Construction Practices for Concreting Work PDF file Click here
1. MIXER POINT
1) Check the mixer for the following
a) Mechanical condition
b} Gap between the blades to be not more than 1"
C} Direction of blades against direction of rotation
2) Mixer should be on level firm ground or platform
3) Unloading into bucket or on tin sheet
4) Water drums - 2 Nos* filled with water and water cans 5 Ltrs & 1 ltr
5) Farmas 30cm x 33.3cm * 20 to 45cm (Depth x Between handles * Along the handle . All in to in dimensions); (Set of six, from 20 to 45 ltrs) Two sets for each mixer
6) Country balance for weighing cement (tolerance ± Ikg
7) Blackboard 1.2m x C.6m giving mix details
8) Half round chute or sliding chute from inker into hoist bucket at 450
9) Mixing time should be 2 minutes (at any case not less than 80 sec.)
10) Revolutions per minute of mixer is 15 to 20
11) Surrounding area to be kept clean
2. UNLOADING POINT
1) Half round chute at 45° with deflector plate
2) Height of chute discharge should not be more than 1m
3) Sliding chute maybe used at ground level
4) Surrounding area to be clean
3. CONCRETING AREA
1) 2 ISO Vibrators with 4 needles 40mm & 60mm (one petrol driven)
2) Trolley Ghodas
3) Walkway Ghodas with planks two way
4) Bharai Ghodas
4. REINFORCEMENT
1) Adequate cover, cover Kanda & vibrator Kanda
2) Column cover with winged cover Kanda
3) Cover blocks with binding wire (21 days curing) same grade as that of the concrete
4) Where steel is congested make way for vibrator by giving more space between rings
5. MISCELLANEOUS POINTS
1) Slump cone and cube moulds to be kept ready. Slump to be checked as required and for higher slabs, Slump check to be carried to at the place of concreting
2) Cubes to be taken as follows : -
a) For column & plinth beams min 6 Nos for each pour
b) For slabs min 9 Nos for each pour
c) One set at the time of starting and one in the middle and one at the end
3) Cubes to be tested as follows :-
One of each set at the end of 3 days/One of each set at the end of 7 days/One of each set at the at end of 28 Days
4) For early deshuttering cubes are kept on top of slab & also on top of plinth beams
5) Use hammer & chisel for removal of column & construction joints to exposed the aggregate & simple Brooming for Slab
6) Tarpaulin during rainy season Kept ready in sufficient quantity on the slab
7) Pour cards/ CWDC (CQRA Sheet) should be filled & signed before concreting
8) During concreting carry out cohesion test by making a ball lo be thrown
a) ht 6'-00''if Shears (add sand)
b) ht 12'-00" if does no: shear (reduce sand)
9) Before starting buttering mix to be carried out with half aggregate
10) Ponding of water to be done immediately after concreting Till water are made keep the slab covered with Gunny-cloth & wet the same ( Curing period is 10 Days )
11) Consumption of cement bags and chemicals (plasticizer) to be noted
